Here are all of the ingredients we use in our products and why they're so great!

Chicken

Easily digestible and contains high amounts of the essential amino acids and essential fatty acids required in a dog’s diet. Whole chickens are used (meat, skin, bones, cartilage, organ meat).

Eggs

High in protein and an excellent source of calcium and vitamin D.  Eggs are a great source of very digestible protein, riboflavin, and selenium. For some dogs that are prone to digestive upset, eggs can give them a little protein boost.

Pumpkin

Pumpkin is an excellent source of fiber and great for digestive health. Pureed pumpkin (with no added sugar or spice) can help dogs and cats with both constipation and diarrhea. The oils in pumpkins’ flesh and seeds are believed to support urinary health. They are also an excellent source of vitamin A, beta-carotene, potassium, and iron, and may even reduce the likelihood your pet will develop cancer.

Cranberries

Cranberries contain bacteria-blocking compounds that are believed to be helpful in preventing urinary tract infections, and scientists now think this same function may be useful in blocking the bacteria responsible for ulcers and certain oral bacteria that can lead to gum disease. Researchers are investigating its potential against cancer, stroke, and viral infections.

Flax

Flaxseed oil is effective in improving the skin and coat conditions of dogs and may also have anti-cancer benefits.  Flaxseed oil can be a dietary source of soluble fiber. Increasing soluble fiber in the diet can help counter tendencies to constipation.

Kelp

This is Atlantic Kelp harvested off the coast of Maine. With its salty taste due to the presence of macro and micro nutrients, it is rich in iodine and complex minerals and is an excellent source of iron and potassium. This sea vegetable also has a high digestible protein level. Kelp also has a high fiber content and is important for the proper function of the thyroid gland. It is recognized for anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, and anti-rheumatic properties as well as for its ability to cleanse the digestive tract, and prevent the absorption of toxic metals.

Kale

Kale is a nutritional powerhouse that boasts a long list of health benefits, including reducing the risk of cancer and heart disease. It containing antioxidants, fiber, phytonutrients, calcium, magnesium, and vitamins A, C, K, and B6. It is also a good source of the minerals copper, potassium, iron, manganese, and phosphorus. Carotenoids and flavonoids are the specific types of antioxidants associated with many of the anti-cancer health benefits. Kale is also rich in lutein and zeaxanthin, powerful nutrients that promote eye-health. Beyond antioxidants, the fiber content of cruciferous kale binds bile acids and helps lower blood cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease.

Rolled Oats

Oatmeal is an excellent carbohydrate source for energy. It is a high quality grain source that is rich in B vitamins and minimizes allergic reactions typically associated with wheat and corn. Whole oats are the whole grain with hull and bran. Oatmeal is known to help protect against heart disease, diabetes, and cancer as well as help to lower cholesterol and maintain the proper levels of blood sugar.

Blueberries

These flavonoid-containing berries are high in antioxidants and provide a great source of manganese, dietary fiber, and vitamins C and K.  Blueberries can help heart health, bone strength, skin health, blood pressure, diabetes management, and cancer prevention.

Apple Cider Vinegar

We use apple cider vinegar as an antibacterial/antifungal agent. There is on-going research on the effects on diabetes, weight loss, blood pressure, and cholesterol.
